Call on your grocery store to join the Campaign for GE-Free Seafood

We are excited to announce our new campaign to prevent genetically engineered fish from hitting our plates.

Will you join us in asking grocery stores, restaurants, chefs and other food companies take the Pledge for GE-Free Seafood? By joining, companies are making public their policies not to purchase or sell genetically engineered salmon or other genetically engineered seafood.

Help us pressure food companies to keep genetically engineered seafood off their shelves and off our plates. Take action now!

Dear Grocery Store CEOs:

I am writing to encourage your company to join the Pledge for GE-Free Seafood and to commit to not sell genetically engineered seafood should it come to market.

Americans have said overwhelmingly that they do not want genetically engineered salmon or other GE seafood to be approved by the Food & Drug Administration and would not eat it if it is approved. The FDA has stated it will not likely label genetically engineered seafood, but by signing the Pledge for GE-Free Seafood you would let your customers know they can safely shop at your seafood department without fear of unintentionally buying GE fish.

Visit www.gefreeseafood.org to learn more.

Thank you again for your time, and I urge you to become a leader in promoting a sustainable seafood supply and protecting your customers’ right to know critical information about the food they purchase for their families.
