Deeply disturbing news was uncovered on April 4 by the Albuquerque Journal: A federal agent is under investigation for killing a Mexican gray wolf in New Mexico.
Adding to this ugly news -- the government is evidently trying to keep the truth from the public and is refusing to talk about the incident.
This is outrageous. The Center for Biological Diversity is taking action now to seek justice for this wolf and expose any cover-up surrounding its death. We need your help to launch a swift response.
This killing marks the 13th time that federal agents have shot a Mexican gray wolf since reintroduction began in 1998 –- these are the same agents that are supposed to be nursing this wild population back to health.
We have to hold government agencies and their agents accountable for protecting wildlife. Every dollar helps, but the more you can give today the faster we'll be able to dig out the full truth about the federal agent's actions and strengthen our campaign to save wolves in the Southwest.
