Don't Let Employers Trick Working People Out Of Their Overtime Pay

The Working Families Flexibility Act sets up a dangerous false choice between time and money, when working families urgently need both. The bill does not promote family friendly or flexible workplaces. Instead, it would erode hourly workers’ ability to make ends meet, plan for family time, and have predictability, stability and true flexibility at work.
If this law is enacted, working people who sign up for comp time will be subject to different standards of employment than those who do not opt in. They will be asked to work more overtime hours but will have no guarantee when they can take their comp time, if ever.
This is far from "common-sense" legislation as this bill's sponsors claim. Instead, it's yet another handout from Congressional Republicans to big business under a sleek guise of helping working people.
