In the past twenty years, Global Exchange has legally sent thousands of travelers to Cuba, and of these travelers, many have had the opportunity to study and experience Cuba's innovative policies and practices in environmental protection and sustainable development.
In an age of climate instability, now more than ever, we need to ensure that the U.S. and Cuba work together to protect our shared and endangered ecosystem, the Gulf of Mexico and its surrounding bodies of land and water, and to encourage unrestricted communication and collaboration in regard to best sustainability practices.
However, as part of the U.S. embargo against Cuba, U.S. citizens are forbidden to travel freely to Cuba. Join us to send an urgent message regarding U.S.-Cuba environmental exchange to President Obama as his administration enters the final stretch of his second term – and he has vowed to take action by executive authority.
If you've traveled to Cuba: Add your name to the letter demanding that all restrictions on travel to Cuba related to environmental sustainability, for professionals and non-professionals alike, be lifted.
If you haven't traveled to Cuba: Sign the petition demanding President Obama end the travel ban to Cuba so that all can learn, experience, and appreciate the island nation.
