What About Peace? Banner
Dear Supporter,

Where is the Peace? Sometimes it's hard to find…

With violent protests mounting in Ukraine, reports of stalled Syrian peace talks, and news of gun violence occurring in communities across the United States happening daily, the dream of a peaceful world can seem distant.

But with the help of poet, Langston Hughes, we are reminded to hold on.

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Tell us about your dreams for Peace. The deadline for this year’s What about Peace? contest is less than a month away. February 17th is the last day to submit your entry!

If you are 14-20 years old tell us how YOU answer this question: What are your dreams for peace?

Write a poem, tell a story, share your opinion in a perfectly crafted essay or send us a photo, painting or graphic. Your own creativity is the only limitation (that and the age and artwork size guidelines, of course!).

Yes, there are prizes! Prizes will be given in two categories – written and visual with a grand prize of $1000 for the best overall.

February 17th will be the last day we can accept your submission so don’t wait. Enter today, and/or spread the word!

Hold on you to your dreams. Our future depends on young people’s commitment to the dream of a peaceful world.
