Dear Supporter,

The 90,000 residents of Santa Monica woke up Wednesday, April 9 to learn that they had set a new bar for environmental protection in California.

In an effort to make sustainability LEGAL, the Santa Monica City Council passed a unanimous vote to recognize rights of nature.

For those in the area, there’s still time to join us on the road through California’s Frackland which kicked off Sunday in Chico, CA and winds up in Culver City, CA this Sunday. Check out our updated blog and take the 90 second fracking test!

Finally, we would like to give a special shout out to our spring Community Rights interns, Alina Evans, Anna Campanelli, and Emily Keller for making the fracking tour possible and so much fun along the way.

Hope to see you on the road with us on the CA Communities Rising Up Against Fracking Tour.

Ever onward,

Shannon Biggs
Director, Community Rights Program
