Freedom From Oil
Dear Supporter,

It's been one year since the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig – owned by Transocean and leased by BP – exploded off the coast of Louisiana. It killed eleven men and ignited the largest oil disaster in U.S. history.

The people of the Gulf have joined together to declare: The Oil Is Still Here and So Are We! They need our help to make sure that this ongoing disaster is not forgotten and not repeated off their shores, nor off of ours.

Earlier this month, I joined Gulf Coast residents harmed by the disaster at BP's annual shareholder meeting in London, kicking off a tour for the release of my new book, Black Tide: the Devastating Impact of the Gulf Oil Spill (Wiley).1

Black Tide is based on hundreds of personal interviews I conducted during my time spent embedded within those Gulf Coast communities most impacted by the disaster. It is a searing look at the human face of this tragedy.

I hope to see you in Colorado and thank you for your continued support!
