A few weeks back, I told you about an exciting online contest Global Exchange is hosting - the People's Choice Human Rights Award. I'm thrilled that so many of you are participating.
I was just on the site and saw that some great human rights activists have been nominated. Find out for yourself who your fellow Global Exchange supporters have chosen.
I encourage you to check out the site and to take a moment to learn about some of the human rights heroes that have been nominated. And if you haven't already, please nominate your hero, or vote for the nominee of your choice (it can even be yourself or your organization). The winner will receive $1,000 toward their work, and they'll be recognized at our upcoming Human Rights Awards gala on June 1st in San Francisco.
Participating in the People's Choice Award contest is a great way to raise the profile of your nominee. We anticipate 10,000 or more visits to the site, including visits from media, supporters and ally organizations. EVERY nominee will be in this spotlight.
The contest ends April 19 at 5PM PST, so don't wait to participate!
P.S. Join us for our annual human rights celebration, the 2011 Human Rights Awards, June 1st in San Francisco. We will be honoring Gulf Coast activist, Wilma Subra, and Rights of Nature champion, Bolivian Ambassador to the United Nations Pablo Solón. And your People's Choice Honoree will also be in the spotlight! Don't miss it. Get your early bird discount ticket today!
