Don't Attack Syria

In the coming days, Congress will debate and vote on President Obama’s proposed retaliation against the Assad regime for its horrific and lethal gassing of civilians and other extreme violations of human rights and international law.

President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry argue that not to act in the face of such brutality would give impunity to Assad and a green light to despots around the world.

If only it were so simple or morally clear.

What is morally clear is that we don't need any more dead civilians and U.S. military intervention in Syria cannot guarantee that. What is morally clear is that we don't need more war.
