Californians need a moratorium on fracking

California's moratorium bill, SB1132, just passed out of the Senate Appropriations Committee! Now it heads to the Senate floor. Your Senators need to hear from you today!

A growing body of research has linked fracking to increased air pollution, water contamination, negative effects on public health, and increased earthquake risk.

But California’s Division of Oil, Gas & Geothermal Resources does not and cannot currently protect us from the impacts of fracking.

From earthquakes, to air pollution, to water pollution, DOGGR and the oil companies' answer to public concerns about fracking impacts has been, 'trust us'. Well, we don't trust them.

That's why we need to tell our representatives to support SB 1132, which would put a moratorium on fracking and require an expanded Environmental Impact Review of its impacts on communities and the environment.

TAKE ACTION: Tell your senator to support SB 1132, and protect all Californians from fracking!
