Ask Congress to Support Research on Toxic Chemicals in Feminine Products
With the launch of our Detox the Box campaign and the release of our Chem Fatale report, Women's Voices for the Earth and our campaign partner Naturally Savvy are bringing attention to the fact that products like tampons and pads can contain some concerning chemicals including dioxins, synthetic musks, and styrene.
The average woman uses 16,800 tampons in her lifetime. Yet little is known about the health impacts of chemicals used in a product that most women put inside their bodies for days at a time on a monthly basis.
An important bill has been introduced in Congress that would require more research on the risks posed by the presence of chemical fragrances, synthetic fibers, and chemicals like dioxin in tampons and pads.
Please tell your representative that you support more research into harmful chemicals in these products!
