April 2014: Awesome UU Actions & Celebrating Mamas Day

Dear Friends,

Thank you to so many of you for your faithful witness at actions across the country this past month urging the President to stop deportations and for continuing to press Congress for compassionate immigration reform. You joined fasts, welcomed bus tour riders, and witnessed at detention centers and in your communities. And Rev. Nancy Palmer Jones from First Unitarian Church of San José was arrested for an act of civil disobedience (pictured here wearing a "love" stole).

Scroll down to see stories about these actions and learn about what’s happening now—from supporting hunger strikers on the White House lawn and next steps for achieving immigration reform.

Plus! We’re also sharing new resources with you including worship materials for celebrating strong families and immigrant mothers on Mamas Day, Sunday May 11th; Borderland, a great new slideshow report from NPR; and a new film on faith and immigration—The Vigil/La Vigila. Lastly, please consider taking a border tour with the UU College of Social Justice. It’s a life-changing experience deeply connected with our faith. Si se puede!
