Join us as we consider the intersections of reproductive justice and the movement(s) for Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Queer (LGBTQ) liberation. These movements have common proponents, opponents, battlefields, and successes, especially in the legislative and judicial fields. What are the sexual and reproductive health care issues affecting LGBTQ people, especially the transgender community, and why might these movements work together more closely?

Guest Speakers:

  • Ashland Johnson is Policy Counsel for the National Center for Lesbian Rights. In this role, a significant portion of her work focuses on reproductive justice and health issues for the LGBT community.
  • Latishia James is a Master of Divinity Candidate at Wesley Theological Seminary and the Mary Jane Patterson Fellow at the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. Latishia is on a mission to illustrate the intersection between sexuality and spirituality; she is a fierce advocate for queer folks, people or color, women, children and all those who society deems to be outside the "norm."

Please note: This is the third webinar in a year-long series of monthly resources for UUs interested in reproductive justice. For recordings of previous webinars and other information, find out more about our advocacy community.
